News Release



March 2009 - Members of UNCW’s chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) have returned
from the 2009 PSE National Convention in Norfolk, VA (March 24 – March 28). As the
convention’s host chapter, Delta Tau attendees worked diligently to make the 2009
convention one of the best in recent history for the more than 450 collegiate, alumni,
and corporate attendees. The convention was filled with activities and events and
included inter-chapter competitions, a career fair, job interviews, guest speakers, and
information workshops.

Inter-chapter competitions were held Wednesday & Thursday. Scholarship interviews
and the Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon competition were held on Friday. UNCW became finalists
for 11 national award categories prior to the on-site competition and won or placed in the
following.

1st Place: Top PSE Salesperson (Jessica Peel)

1st Place: Whan Challenger Award (Amanda Cicero)

3.
1st Place: Top Marketing Project (Brittany Barr, Jennifer Coady, and Danielle
McConnell for Wing Fling)

4.
1st Place: Top Marketing Research Project (Meghan MacDonald, Scotlan Liles,
and Leanne Larcher for Sherman Lecture Series)

5.
2nd Place: Top Project Manager (Lauren Kennedy for Silent Auction)

6.
3rd Place: Top Chapter (Gold Level)

Delta Tau also won the
Sustained Excellence Award for achieving highest chapter
activity points ranking three years in a row. Amanda Cicero also won the
Mu Kappa
Tau honor society scholarship
. In addition, Dr. Lynnea Mallalieu (faculty advisor) was
named the
Executive Vice President and Sandra Wells (alumni advisor) was named
Professional Vice President for the PSE National Council.
